General

Q. There is no sound coming from my Scroll.

A. Check that the sound output is not muted by using the physical volume buttons on the side of Scroll to adjust the volume.

Q. When I try to type on my Scroll it sometimes misses out letters.

A. Scroll uses resistive touch screen technology, not the capcitive technology found in some other touch screen devices. You need to ensure you touch the screen with some pressure for accurate typing.

Q. How long will my Scrolls battery last?

A. Scroll has a battery life of up to 4 hours depending on application use.

Q. How long will Scroll take to charge?

A. A complete battery charge will take up to 16 hours.

Q. My Scroll keeps turning itself off when I don't use it for a time.

A. The Scroll sleep timer is set to conserve battery power. To adjust the sleep timer go to the Settings menu - Power off timer and set the timer to a desired sleep time.

Q. Will Scroll be updated to Android 2.2 or 2.3?

A. The operating system on Scroll tablet PC's are not user upgradable. Any attempts by end users to change or modify the operating system will invalidate the warranty.

Q. Can I restore my Scroll to factory settings?

A. Yes. In the Settings menu go to Privacy and select Factory data reset. This will reset your Scroll to factory defaults. You must ensure Scroll is connected to a power source to perform a factory reset.

Q. Does my Scroll have a built in microphone for dictation?

A. Yes.

Q. Am I able to upgrade the RAM or any other hardware in my Scroll?

A. No. Scroll does not have any user upgradable hardware.

Internet

Q. How do I access my sent mail box on Scroll?

A. When in the email app, press the physical menu button; from the menu that appears select Folders. You will then be able to select the mailbox folder you wish to view.

Q. Websites which use Flash do not display properly on my Scroll.

A. Scrolls hardware does not sup[port Adobe Flash web content.

Wi-Fi

Q. How do I connect my Scroll to my WiFi?

A. Select the Settings menu - Wireless & network settings - WiFi settings

Check that Network Notification has a green tick next to it. This will mean that your Scroll will automatically search for wireless networks wherever you are.

Below this you are able to select from available wireless networks and then prompted to enter the appropriate password for that network.

Q. I want to use my Scroll on more than one wireless network.

A. The Scroll can store settings for up to 10 wireless networks.

Q. My WiFi isn't working after I have connected to a device via HDMI?

A. Go to, Settings - Wireless & network settings. Then check that WiFi has a green tick next to it.

Q. Can I give my Scroll a static IP?

A. Yes. In the Wireless & Networks settings - Wifi Settings. Press the physical menu button, select Advanced then select Use Static IP and enter your settings.

Storage

Q. Am I able to add files to my Scroll from a computer?

A. Yes, you can manage files on Scroll with both Windows and Apple operating systems. Connect Scroll to a computer using the port labelled USB. On Scroll's home screen click the physical menu button and select Notifications. From the next menu select USB Connected (internal) and then Mount as prompted. Your Scroll will appear as removable storage to your computer.

Q. My media files are not showing on my Scroll when I copy them from my computer.

A. You must unmount and disconnect Scroll from your computer for it to update the media stored on your Scroll.

Q. Am I able to increase the storage space on my Scroll?

A. You can use a Micro SD or Micro SDHC memory card to add up to 32GB of storage to the Scroll.

Q. Can I use a USB flash drive with my Scroll?

A. You can use the included On The Go cable to connect USB flash drives to your Scroll (32GB is the maximum capacity recognised by the Scroll over USB).

Video and display

Q. When I try to play a video on my Scroll there is no image on the screen.

A. Scroll may be set up to output video and audio to HDMI. To check this and change the settings follow these instructions: In the settings menu go to Sound and display - Output select. Then make sure None is selected to see all images on your Scroll.

Q. Some of my MKV files will not play on my Scroll.

A. The MKV file format is only a container for a variety of video and audio codecs, so the file you are trying to play may contain video and audio streams not compatible with Scroll.
