We also wanted to clear something up once and for all as we have had a number of questions about the screen. We can confirm that the Scroll Extreme actually boasts the latest IPS (in-plane switching) LCD technology which delivers truly stunning results. The IPS technology allows the user to enjoy vivid and natural images, even when viewing the device’s screen from the side. It is perfect for enjoying anything multimedia based or simply for sharing with someone sat next to you. No more having to look at the screen head on all of the time.

  1. I got one a few days back, unfortunately the screen had filth stuck behind the glass on arrival, so I have had to send it back. From what I tried, though, everything else is great and despite the quality-control issue, the display is rather gorgeous!

  2. I’ve had the extreme a couple of days now. It’s great. However, i was wondering how long it would be before you released a wallet and keyboard case specifically for this device? I’ve been lookng around and there aren’t any that will fit the tablet. thanks

    • Hi Benji, thanks for your comment, we actually have a wallet and keyboard coming for the Extreme. We should have this on sale in about three weeks. We will be announcing the new product here on the blog so keep a look out for it. Best wishes, Chris

          • Any news on the wallet yet? And will there be a screen protector… Have almost made up my mind to get the scroll extreme and although not a deal breaker a wallett/screen protector would be good…

          • They will be out around the 15th May. Keep checking the website around then but we will let people know through Facebook and Twitter when they are available.

  3. Hi there, just received my Extreme today and pretty happy with it except for two small issues;

    1) The wifi connection drops randomly, and reasonably frequently, for no reason. I’m close to my router and tgere should be nothing interfering.

    2) Netflix is unuseable, which is frustrating because it’s one of the reasons I bought a tablet. It plays content for about two mins and then just stops streaming. I’m on a fibre connection, so its not a bandwidth issue.

    Any ideas on solving these?

    • Hi Jason, with regards to the third party application Netflix, this application is not something we actively support or partner with so unfortunately you would have to liaise with them directly to see if they can help you with issues on their application. A quick look on the Netflix site seems to suggest they only support a limited set of devices of which ours isn’t one.   4. Hi, are you aware of any issues with using i-player directly from BBC’s website? I’ve tried the suggestions within the scroll forums without any luck. i-player works fine to begin with, but will grind to halt within a minute. My Atom powered netbook works fine. It’s the only reason for wanting to send the tablet back (although the multi-function volume control is awful too, as you can’t make small adjustments to volume levels).

  5. Hi I have the Home CCTV kit with 2 cameras. (alos added a wide angle camera for front door)
    My router is downstairs and the DVR upstairs. Is it possible for the DVR to talk to the router wirelessly?? Say if I got a wireless USB stick ir is there another way? This would save me having to cable fromt he bedroom to the main living room??? Thanks.

    11.2 Of the says I can connect to a 3G dongle…
    1. Go to “Settings”  “Wireless & Networks”  “More”.
    2. Select “3G Support Information” to display a list of compatible 3G dongles.

    I don’t have “3G Support Information” displayed on my screen.

    Any advice?

  7. I am seriously thinking of ordering the scroll extreme,But I read that google play app store will not work, is this going to be the case? My Samsung S2 has android 4.0 and seems to work fine but wanted to double check before shelling out. Also how does the battery perform in a real world enviroment, I’d have to use it for work and also on some long haul flight 9+hrs.
    Hope some one can help me with my Q’s

      Thanks for your question. Due to licensing restrictions the Scroll Extreme does not come with the Google Play app preinstalled. This has not, however prevented countless numbers of Scroll users from enjoying the Scroll to the full, with stores such as our partner provider SlideME, offering a wide range of applications which can easily be downloaded.

  8. Hi,
    Got the Extreme a few days ago. Nice piece of kit!!
    Even thou it states the extreme plays flash, and i have updated flash to Version 11, I still cant seem to play flash videos on web pages???? Video starts to load full screen then goes back to the web page. Any ideas?
    Also, as another poster said above, WiFi connection sometimes randomly drops out but i have no problem with other pc`s connected to the network

  9. I’m Really pleased with the extreme but i too have the issue with internet connection dropping a lot. It only happens on the Extreme, and not with any other device connected on the WiFi. Also, even though i have the latest Flash 11.1 i still don’t seem to be able to watch flash videos embedded into web pages, YouTube etc is OK .

  11. Please can you tell me the difference between the scroll Extreme & Elite. I am looking to buy the 9.7in but re-sellers are offering deals but under the two different names

      The latest Scroll Elite model boasts many of popular features of the Scroll Extreme, including the latest Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) operating system, intuitive IPS screen and extensive multimedia capabilities. The Elite also boasts an impressive 16GB of storage compared to 8GB with the Extreme and is complete with a European mains adapter for use on the continent.

We have purchased several of these for education and am very pleased with them so far… we have also invested in the keyboard wallets which are great (although the keyboard is american layout) the only thing I am needing now is a screen protector to stop the scratches reducing the life. Is there any news on when these will be available?

I got mine for my birthday in april since then i have had a number of problems the battery only lasts a bit over an hour and recently it wont charge properly then today i give it ago and there is an orange caution sign in the battery and it now it doesnt even charge i am very disapointed at its speed is also very sluggish. £200 may be cheap for a tablet but its still a lot of money for a piece of crap basically i would of been better buying a piece of cow crap for £200 i just so annoyed. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM YOU AGAIN!!! Unless i get a full refund or it starts to work with your help!
